Caroline Wozniacki and David Lee Make Big Profit on Miami Penthouse
Sports-star couple Caroline Wozniacki and David Lee have just sold their luxurious penthouse on the ultra-exclusive enclave of Fisher Island in Miami Beach. The Danish tennis star and former NBA forward had listed the five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom unit in January for $42.5 million. It was sold for a reduced price of $37 million. Calgary Home Sales Struggled in June
Home sales in Calgary are slipping, according to a report this week. The Alberta, Canada, city saw sales fall 13% in June from last year’s record high, as the limited availability of lower-priced homes continued to squeeze the market. The benchmark price across all home types was C$608,000 (US$446,153) in June, up 8.5% from a year earlier and about 0.4% higher than May. New listings, meanwhile, fell 3.6% year-over-year. Miami Condo King Warns Defunding Arts Is a ‘Horrible Message’ to Transplants
Billionaire developer Jorge Perez says Miami’s image as a ‘serious city’ is at risk after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis axed all $32 million in state funding for the arts in a surprise move. “We want to be a serious city, and serious means that we have great education and we have great exposure to culture,” said Perez, whose company has hundreds of luxury condos in development. Miami has been trying to remake its image as a party city into a global center of dining, culture and finance, as it sees an influx of wealthy, connected Northeast transplants. Bloomberg
