A woman’s hilarious delivery room prank has TikTok howling.
About four years ago, TikToker @hopealexisk tricked her very own mother. When her mom’s first grandchild was moments from entering the world, it was the perfect time to get one over on the grandma-to-be.
“I pranked my mother into thinking she missed the birth of her first grandchild,” the caption read.
The grandmother and another family member walked toward the mom’s hospital room. The sound of a baby crying was audible.
“The baby is here,” the person behind the camera said.
The grandma was in total shock. Her countenance had utterly fallen.
“You’re lying. That’s not even funny,” the other family member said.
With just $1,000 and one day, this Harlem bedroom gets a brand new look:
But the grandmother quickly realized the crying was fake. Then the mom-to-be completely crumbled and revealed the whole thing was a prank.
“I’m sorry mom. I didn’t want to do it. I’m sorry come here, mom! I knew that wasn’t gonna be funny,” the mom-to-be said.
Other people in the room were laughing hysterically. In a follow-up, the mom-to-be clarified that the prank actually did go over well.
“For everyone wondering, my mom later thought it was hilarious,” the new mom stated.
The video of the prank racked up 2.2 million likes on TikTok.
“This seems like a summary of how yalls childhood went lol,” someone commented, and @hopealexisk replied, “yep.”
“As Gma, I would think yay! Hardest thing was watching my daughter give birth,” a person wrote.
“Its the sorry mom I didn’t want to do it, for me this is so me with my mom,” another said.
