Be NASA’s virtual guest for the launch of Northrop Grumman’s 19th Commercial Resupply Services Mission.
NASA and Northrop Grumman are targeting liftoff of the company’s S.S. Laurel Clark Cygnus spacecraft and Antares rocket no earlier than 8:31 p.m. EDT Tuesday, August.1 from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad-0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
It is Northrop Grumman’s tradition to name each Cygnus spacecraft in honor of an individual who has made great contributions to human spaceflight. The NG-19 Cygnus spacecraft was named the S.S. Laurel Clark in remembrance and celebration of the life of NASA astronaut Dr. Laurel Clark.
Scientific investigations launching to the space station on NG-19 include studies of spacecraft fire protection, neural cell models for potential gene therapy, the density of Earth’s uppermost atmosphere, and other experiments, along with a memory card that contains creative works from students around the world.
